A still-life-like presence, quietly spreading
through the space before we realize it is there.
A study of transformation and close observation.
Before I knew it, it had spread.
A mark present from the beginning, or something that surfaced with the passage of time. Through peeling and carving, things transform, and mosses and lichens slowly spread.
It seems to expand especially while we sleep, taking on a different expression by morning.

気がつくと広がっていた。
はじめからあったシミのようなものや、時間が経ってあらわてきたもの。
また、皮を剥いたり、切り刻んだりして、それが変質したり、苔藓類がひろがっていったり。
特に眠っている間にそれはひろがっているようで、夜を跨いでみると、違った表情になっている。
それは気がつくと広がっていた。
静物画というのは、とても身近なものであり、かつ、注意深い観察態度で臨むと驚くような発見がある、それをカタチにしようと試みるジャンルなのだろう。
