Mindaugas cooked me some chanterelles.

Mindougas cooked a chanterelle mushroom dish for us.

It's been a while since I last visited the country house of the linen clothing brand muku. For lunch, they prepared sautéed chanterelle mushrooms picked in the forest. Mushroom hunting is a staple in Lithuania from summer to autumn, but this was the first time I'd had them during my summer stay. Mindougas expertly prepared the meal.

Mushrooms picked in the forest are cleaned and cut into bite-sized pieces, then fried in a frying pan with finely chopped onions. Season with salt and pepper, and finish with gretine (sour cream). Lithuanian sour cream has a smooth and gentle flavor. The sautéed mushrooms also have just the right amount of richness. Serve with steamed potatoes and pickles. The savory flavor of the mushrooms and the creamy taste of the gretine. It's so delicious that you won't be able to stop eating it, and you'll be full. Thank you for the meal.
